Last Thursday I went to two of our local primary schools to deliver a Science workshop to Year 5.
Students at Wellington Lions and Wellington Eagles enjoyed a hands-on lesson looking at materials. We began by exploring different Non-Newtonian fluids such as Oobleck, tomato ketchup and honey. This was followed by an activity of making a nanopolymer bouncy ball. The students did an excellent job of carefully following a method and were able to take their balls home to carry on the experiment. They were tasked to investigate which surface was best to bounce their ball on and enter their findings into a competition.
I look forward to seeing their results!
